Subject: Admiration of work
In 1998 my wife and I moved from another state to Minnesota, and in particular St. Paul. We live on the “West Side”. One of the first murals we saw was this one and both my wife and I commented about how the message of the mural, and the image itself, was fantastic. Over the years we watched it deteriorate and wondered if the City would simply allow it to slowly dissolve into the brick. When we saw this would not be the case in 2024, as the artists were redoing it, we were quite happy. People need to see this mural, see the message, and maybe, just maybe, thank the artists. It is their vision and work that provides the knowledge to the people that “Hunger Has No Color”.

Subject: Love this mural
This mural has been an iconic image since I was a child growing up in West St. Paul and driving down into downtown through the viaduct. Great to see it being restored and maintained for the next generation to enjoy.

Really nice to see it getting touched up. It’s been pretty cool driving past it all these years and seeing the respect it has been getting not getting graffiti painted on it etc. It’s hard to believe that many years have past by since that beautiful summer day at the park.
